Department of Management Studies is associated with the faculty of textile and apparel of the Sri Lankan Institute of Textile and Apparel. The objective of the existence of the department is to develop and enhance the management-related subject knowledge, skills, and attitudes of undergraduates. The department develops, evaluates, and conducts a variety of modules for the B.Sc degree program. It encourages academic staff and students to carry on research related to the management field. All the modules conducted by the Department of Management are standardized as per the guidelines of the Sri Lankan Qualification Framework (SLQF). The department is responsible for the development and maintenance of the quality of all the general subject modules which are not allied to textile and apparel studies. The department is responsible for developing, and conducting modules related to the scientific, operational, and behavioural management modules of the degree program. Work study, industrial engineering, and business process reengineering are scientific management modules. Industrial psychology and sociology are categorized under the behavioural management stream. Industrial law financial management and supply chain management are categorized under operations management. In addition, modules that are categorized under management science such as operational research, and statistics also belong to the Department of Management Studies.
